This Homemade Spaghetti and Meatballs Birthday Cake is one of the easiest cakes that I have ever made and have actually done it twice now.
I cooked the cake in a large oven safe bowel, once it was chilled then I trimmed off the dome, placed it upside down and dirty iced it. With the left over chocolate cake, I mixed it with icing and rolled them into balls. I then placed them in the freezer to harden and later wrote the lettering on them.
I placed the cake on a lazy Susan and used a #3 or 4 tip and an icing bag to pipe the spaghetti. Rotating the cake around and sometimes lifting it up on an angle tends to give the best result. I continue piping until I can no longer tell that there is cake underneath. The cake is then placed back in the fridge/freezer.
